Stop & Breathe

Award Winning project made on a team of 6. Stop & Breathe serves to teach youth how to breathe and manage anxiety in real life.

My roles included:

  • Game & Puzzle Design

  • Level Design

  • Narrative Design & Scripting

  • Cinematic Work

A Season of Fire

A rapidly developed board game made on a team of 8 over 2 months. Includes a digital and physical version. The goal of this game is to teach audiences preventative strategies for forest fires.

My roles included:

  • Writer and Narrative Direction

  • Game & Interaction Design

  • QA Testing and Balancing Lead

My Little Friend

A short visual novel created to exercise my script writing and narrative skills. 

Take control of an average man who comes into contact with the super natural, and engage in a story with choice-dependant endings. Created in RenPy and prototyped in CeltxGem.

A Hat in Time: A Dream of The Past

A level design challenge to recreate the entirety of the A Hat in Time experience in one short level. Polished release, with excellent reception from the Steam community.

Boxy Graybox

A rapid prototype for a 3D platformer level. Tells the story of a small happy place falling into chaos through design language and game mechanics.

Vision Quest

A rapid prototype for a visual novel. Tells the story of a young aboriginal woman with an identity struggle, and her desire to break gender norms in her current social groups' structure. Multiple endings.

I am John Hampson, commonly known as JT by friends and colleagues. I have a passion for video games, and as such have a drive to make an impact on the industry by making creative ideas come to life. â€‹

I am currently enrolled at Sheridan College, where I am taught Game Design disciplines such as Game Programming, Documentation, Level Design, and Interactive Narrative.

​

Using my advanced and versatile game creation knowledge and skills, I plan to make narrative driven experiences for players that will resonate with them even after they put their controller down.
